At the recent ViVE2023 event we had the opportunity to sit down with industry leaders to discuss a number of important technologies, challenges, and opportunities. Check out the following interviews with KeyBank, Clarify Health, Esri, and Xealth.
Payment is Important – KeyBank
Over the past few years, we have seen more and more banks at healthcare conferences. It’s not surprising when you consider how important receiving and managing payments is to healthcare providers and health IT companies. James Monroe, Senior Payments Advisor at KeyBank – one of the largest bank-based financial services institutions in the US based in Cleveland OH, stopped by at #ViVE2023 to share some of the ways their organization is helping provider organizations and health tech companies.
Price Transparency Momentum – Clarify Health
Price transparency is critical for aligning the entire healthcare ecosystem around reducing costs. In the past several years momentum around price transparency has been growing. What is needed to continue to move it forward? Niall Brennan, Chief Analytics and Privacy Officer at Clarify Health and Leader of the Clarify Health Institute, says that payer and provider data quality must be improved. This means normalizing the data and filling in the gaps that currently exist (ie: where data is not available or not reported).
GIS + Health – Esri
One of my favorite people to interview is Dr. Este Geraghty, Chief Medical Officer at Esri. Her passion for improving healthcare through the use of GIS technology is infectious. I had the chance to catch up with her at #ViVE2023 just after she presented with Dr. Benjamin Weston, Chief Health Policy Advisor and Director of Medical Services for Milwaukee County. Together they highlighted the pioneering work that Milwaukee County is doing to measure EMS response time variations based on factors like race and geography.
Are Hospitals Reducing their Vendor Portfolio? – Xealth
Are healthcare providers actively reducing the number of IT vendors they work with? I’ve heard a lot of rumblings about this over the past 12 months. It makes sense that this would be the case as healthcare IT departments look to cut costs. However, Mike McSherry, CEO of Xealth isn’t seeing evidence of this. We sat down with McSherry at #ViVE2023 to explore this.
