openEHR

openEHR is an open standard specification in health informatics that describes the management and storage, retrieval and exchange of health data in electronic health records (EHRs). In openEHR, all health data for a person is stored in a “one lifetime”, vendor-independent, person-centred EHR. The openEHR specifications include an EHR Extract specification but are otherwise not primarily concerned with the exchange of data between EHR-systems as this is the focus of other standards such as EN 13606 and HL7.

#ProjectHealthViz was a great initiative to create a community of Tableau in the Healthcare field. Many great dashboards have been created during the time the project was running. I’ll be bookmarking a few here on MediFormatica. While the data set may now be outdated, I’m still interested in the visualizations themselves.

OMOP Common Data Model

The OMOP Common Data Model allows for the systematic analysis of disparate observational databases. The concept behind this approach is to transform data contained within those databases into a common format (data model) as well as a common representation (terminologies, vocabularies, coding schemes), and then perform systematic analyses using a library of standard analytic routines that have been written based on the common format.
