Provide usage to produce clinical and market intelligence that contributes to the growth and success of a cancer program.


The following has been extracted from a recent RFP. I've included it here for your reference. It may prove useful for anyone preparing such a document.

Cancer Registry

Description
Provide usage to produce clinical and market intelligence that contributes to the growth and success of a cancer program.

1   Access to wide range of exclusive tracking and reporting capabilities
2   Perform caseload analysis over time, to evaluate the relative effectiveness of different therapies against different types of cancers in different types of patients.
3   Assist in conducting comprehensive internal historic comparisons and external comparisons against published national and regional norms.
4   Record and report data, monitor physician AJCC staging , and comply with Ministry of Health and national electronic reporting requirements
5   Import demographic and clinical data from any department ( ex: Health information management , pathology , radiation oncology )
6   Extensive edit checks, assuring quality of data
7   Quality assurance for commentaries on diagnosis and follow-up
8   Address labels , follow-up letters
9   Graphical presentation of survival data, based on multiple methods of calculating survival
10   Ability for data on individual cases to be retrieved by any one of the on-line indices for name, accession number, site, medical record number or social security number
11   Ability to view and maintain data over time , regardless of whether the case is complete
12   Provide categories of case status

16   Links to cancer-related sites for cancer treatment information by specific disease, relate oncology topics, and patient education material
17   Ability to retain and retrieve tumor registry information
18   Ability to generate semi-annual and yearly anniversary letters
19   Ability to generate abstracts for the Ministry of Public Health
20   Ability to receive data from outside sources ( MOH , other Hospitals ) according to Hospital standard
