Accident and Emergency Management

The module shall include information on patient registration, visit details, treatment details, referral source, patient follow up;
(admitted, discharged or referred to outpatient clinics ).
The Accident and Emergency (A&E) module should allow the Hospital to record data accurately and quickly for patient treatment. The A&E module should allow users to record casualty details , and `discharge status’. It should also register patients and integrate to the Inpatients module for admitting patients. The module should produce casualty statistics i.e. types of injury, clinic usage, discharge status.

Inpatient Management ( ADT )

The Inpatient module should support two main functions : the administration of wards ( nursing units ) and the handling of admissions, discharge and transfer of patients in those wards.

The system should assist management in viewing and assessing inpatient facilities, enhancing their ability to plan resources use and service provision for the future.

Medical Records

This module is required, to be fully, integrated with, inpatient management and patient accounting. This module should support the operational needs of a modern medical records department including transcription, case indexing, abstracting, statistical reporting, charge location, with complete integration with patient billing function.

Operating Room Management

The module is required to ensure that all needed resources are available, to provide the most effective use of surgical teams, to help plan the surgical department case day and to ensure incorporation of emergency cases.
The Surgical Patient Scheduling ( Theater Management / Operating Room Management ) module should provide a totally flexible way of utilizing the hospital’s operating rooms facilities by using an organizational or scheduling tools by staff at all levels within the hospital .

Outpatient Management

The Outpatients module should support the setting up and maintenance of clinics and the administration and scheduling of outpatient appointments. The system should provide reporting functionality which will allow planners to see the level of demand for clinics and other statistical information.

The module should allow entries for recurring , referral and clinical outpatients.

Patient Registration System

The Hospital needs a registration system, which will utilize a central patient registration database that contains basic information on each patient. The patient registration database will serve as a Master Patient Index; it will support all other systems in patient identification. The main key of the patient record will be the mandatory identification card number, which is issued by the department of central statistics at the ministry of interior. The system should allow the search of a patient record by using any combination of fields.
The patient registration module is required by the Ministry of Public Health , where the patient identification is crucial for assessing eligibility as well as accessing the correct records in a multitude of settings.
The system must facilitate patient demographic and treatment data capture and provide the hospital with the ability to create and maintain a logical lifetime medical record for each patient.
The system must have proven safeguards and mechanisms which protect the system from duplication of patient data or the linking of erroneous data with a patient.

Scheduling

A Scheduling Module is required to simplify the process by which, staff members schedule patient appointments in any department or facility across the hospital.

The module should allow the recording of detailed patient information, such as referring physicians , treating doctor, urgency level and estimated length of stay.

Furthermore, the module should allow booking of patients requiring multiple treatments, and manage resources efficiently.
