Traditionally, pharmacists have had little ability to impact patient adherence to their medications after they leave the store. A new system from Parata allows pharmacists to offer patients all their medication in sealed packets that are sorted by day and dosing time. Each onePAC dose is printed with the patient's name, day and time of dose, medication names, and other prescribing information. OnePAC uses Parata's new PACMED technology, which can automatically prepare up to 50 multi-dose packages per minute, and comes in strips of up to a 90-day supply.
Parata onePAC sends your care and attention home with patients. Each customized unit- or multi-dose package is prepared by the pharmacy, verified by the pharmacist and custom-printed to tell the patient exactly what she is taking and when to take it.
onePAC are transparent on one side so medications are visible, and white on the other so custom-printed details are easy to read, including:
| A. | Patient name |
| B. | Time of administration |
| C. | Medication names, strengths, and pill descriptions. |
Patients receive a strip of onePAC packages, each perforated so every dose can be easily removed, opened and administered in order.
HOW IT WORKS
>> Patient chooses onePAC packaging option. Pharmacist reviews complete OTC and prescription regimen.
>> Pharmacy generates a supply (e.g., 30-day) of onePAC packages in a perforated strip using Parata PACMED.
>> Patient is given their onePAC packages to take home in a dispensing box which presents one dose at a time
>> Patient takes medications at time specified on onePAC packaging.
>> Caregivers can easily verify that doses are being taken on-time.
