News and Research

A paper from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and HiLabs found inconsistencies for 81% of physicians examined across 5 large national health insurers. Along with the challenge of inaccuracy, researchers noted that this poses problems related to surprise billing, delays in care, and misrepresentation of the breadth and depth of in-network providers.  Check out the interview John did recently with HiLabs to learn more about what they do.

A survey from the Health Management Academy and Outbound AI reported that almost half (48%) of health systems are using AI technology for workforce management, and 85% expect to see a moderate to significant increase in the use of such tools in the next one to three years. Not surprising RCM is also a popular use case for AI, with 78% of health systems currently using it or evaluating its use.

Digital therapeutic company Medisafe surveyed patients, providers, and digital health leaders about the state of digital solutions for patient care. Overall, 40% of respondents said the pace of innovation is just right. Interestingly, the two categories of respondents most likely to say the pace of innovation is “much too slow” were patients (17%) and C-level executives (15%).
